St Marys Town Centre has zero tolerance for graffiti and vandalism, on private and public property. We urge all business owners and visitors of the St Marys CBD to be resilient and vigilant against this crime. Take action using these 5 things that vandals don’t want you to know about!
1. NSW Police Force Community Portal
NSW Police recently launched Community Portal, an online reporting tool for non-emergencies like lost property, intentional and malicious damage, graffiti, and theft. Log in with your MyServiceNSW account and report these crimes immediately from any device. Read more here.
2. Graffiti Removal Hotline
One of the quickest ways to get graffiti removed from your property is the free Graffiti Removal Hotline operated by Penrith City Council. Call 1800 022 182 and give as much information as possible. Council has a dedicated graffiti removal team with a quick turnaround, who will attend your property and do their best to remove the graffiti. This service is available at no cost to you.
3. Online graffiti removal form
Penrith City Council has an online form for you to easily report graffiti from any device. Go to https://www.penrithcity.nsw.gov.au/Services/Other-Services/Graffiti-removal-form/ and give as much information as possible. This information will be given to the graffiti removal team who will attend your property and do their best to remove the graffiti. Again, this service is available at no cost to you.
4. Graffiti removal day
Graffiti Removal Day is a state-wide graffiti removal and prevention day led by local communities and made successful by volunteers. This year we encourage business owners and land owners in St Marys Town Centre to nominate their property for clean up and get involved in the removal process. Find out more at graffitiremovalday.org.au
There are ways to minimise the effects of graffiti and make it easier to remove. This includes clear coatings, treatments and films that can be applied to your signage and wall surfaces. Ask your signage supplier or painter about the options. You can also check fact sheets online like this one before contacting a professional or attempting removal yourself.
We are always happy to point you in the right direction and work with you to research the best options and contractors. Call or email us to discuss more.
Take action and stay on top of graffiti and vandalism, report it whenever and wherever you see it. Do not let vandals win and tarnish the look of our Town Centre.
In the meantime should you have any questions, please contact Genevieve at St Marys Town Centre on 9833 2433 or firstname.lastname@example.org
